Hello lovelies,
as we approach the end of a rather eventful year, to put it VERY mildly, I am looking back at my writing this year and frankly, I’m kinda proud of myself! I did a lot of it, some of which was pretty good.
And at the same time, I want to push back on the social media-fuelled constant publishing of new writing/content/whatever, and the way “old” stuff gets immediately buried and forgotten. I hope that storing everything on this page helps somewhat to keep it all alive. I hope that keeping a big chunk of it free to read, also helps it survive and continue to be read.
And so, as a thank you for being here, I’m temporarily removing the paywall from 3 of my most-read posts of 2024 and sharing them below, AND I’m also sharing 4 of my favourite posts, and some of my most-viewed posts below that.
A warning: this post might be too long to read in an email, in which case you’ll need to click on the email to view it on the Substack website or app!
Also, quick reminder I have a 30% discount on paid subscriptions until Jan 1!
Below are 3 usually paywalled posts, that are now free to read.
I hope you enjoy these! Heads’ up I’ll probably paywall them again at some point in the next few weeks.
(The last 2 have an audio version too, read by me, which is free to listen to now.)
When homeschooling goes bad.

The 5 levels of strewing (and beyond)
I’m working on creating a more supportive, resource- and conversation-rich space for paid members who are working out how to centre consent in their homes, live in partnership with their children, and/or live without school.
America Hates its Children (and maybe Europe does too)
(Hello! You can listen to the audio version here.)
My 4 favourite posts of 2024
This was tough because looking back, it turns out there are quite a few posts I loved writing and also love looking back on. But here we go, these are my top picks:
What school is doing wrong.
The beginning of the end of schooling, for our family, was online learning.
On the front lines of our double-standards
I’m going to write a bit about youth resistence and children’s power, and if you find any of my writing and sharing valuable, please consider supporting this newsletter by becoming a paid subscriber.
(Some of)my most popular posts of 2024
They aren’t necessarily my favourites, but they’re the ones that got the most views!
Am I a tradwife if I look like one?
NOTE: This piece is LONG, and it may not fit in an email - you may have to click on the actual piece to read it in full.
How to live as if school doesn't exist
Some time ago, I wrote about the ways I’m shifting from living without school, aka unschooling, to living as if school doesn’t even exist.

I love you all and I appreciate you.
I hope you have a good enough start to 2025 (low expectations, remember? There’s a post about that somewhere!)
